Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Belmont Labs ("we", "us") about your use of the Bible Studio app and the biblestudioapp.com website (together, "the Service"). By downloading or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What Bible Studio is
Bible Studio is a free study aid. You ask questions about the Bible and receive answers generated by an artificial-intelligence model (Claude, provided by Anthropic) from our server. The Service requires no account and has no fees or in-app purchases.
2. AI-generated content
- Answers are generated automatically by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. They are not reviewed by a person before you see them.
- Answers are offered for study and general information. They are not pastoral counsel, theological authority, or professional advice of any kind (medical, legal, financial, psychological or otherwise). Always read the Scripture passage yourself and consult your church, pastor or a qualified professional for decisions that matter.
- The AI aims to present major Christian traditions fairly. An answer does not represent the official position of Belmont Labs or of any church or denomination.
- If an answer seems wrong or inappropriate, please use "Flag this answer" in the app so we can review it.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to generate content that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, or that promotes harm to any person or group;
- attempt to extract the underlying instructions, keys or source of the Service, or to use the Service's server for any purpose other than the app;
- send automated or bulk requests, probe or overload the Service, or try to bypass its fair-use limits;
- use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
We may limit or block access from any device or network that we reasonably believe is abusing the Service.
4. Fair-use limits and availability
Because every answer costs us money to generate, the Service applies reasonable limits on the number of questions per device and per day. We may change these limits, add or remove features, or suspend or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
5. Intellectual property
- The Bible Studio name, logo, "the Orb", the app design and the software are owned by Belmont Labs and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from them except as these Terms allow.
- Bible texts quoted in answers belong to their respective publishers. The King James Version, World English Bible and American Standard Version are in the public domain. Other translations are quoted briefly under their publishers' permitted-use terms and remain the property of their copyright holders.
- You may use the answers you receive for your personal, non-commercial study, and you may share them with others through the app's Share feature. We make no claim of ownership over the questions you ask.
6. Licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Bible Studio app on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. This licence is for your personal use only.
7. Apple-specific terms
The app is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to a warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund any purchase price (there is none, as the app is free); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY ANSWER IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PURPOSE.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BELMONT LABS AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE, WHICH IS ZERO. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Belmont Labs from any claim, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information the Service handles. It forms part of these Terms.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app. We may terminate or suspend your access if you breach these Terms. Sections 2, 5, 8, 9, 10 and 13 survive termination.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Belmont Labs is organised, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that state, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted at this address with its effective date. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
